Bellingham is a wonderful destination and is only a little over an hour away from Oso Highlands. There are tons of things to see and do in the city and this itinerary is just a tiny sample. Head out in the morning and stop at Mr. T’s Family Cafe in Mt. Vernon for breakfast. You will not leave hungry. Continue on to Village Books in the Fairhaven District to grab a book and some coffee and possibly participate in a leftwing protest of some type. Afterwards, head down to one of the many parks lining Bellingham Bay and walk along the water. Be aware that the wind is often fierce. Further downtown is the SPARK Museum of Electrical Invention where you can spend hours looking at the exhibits (or participating in the hands on exhibits) and on the weekend pay an extra 5 bucks to attend the MegaZapper Show. You will not be disappointed.
